The Windham Foundation
The Grafton Inn is part of the nonprofit Windham Foundation of Grafton, Vermont, whose mission is to promote the vitality of Grafton and Vermont’s rural communities through its philanthropic and educational programs and its subsidiaries whose operations contribute to these endeavors.
The Foundation’s affiliated for-profit businesses, including the Grafton Inn, Grafton Trails, and the Grafton Village Cheese Company, operate to further this mission directly, and their earned income assists in funding Foundation programs.
In partnership with the Preservation Trust of Vermont, the Windham Foundation has also preserved the nearby Birchdale Camp, once owned by the Alec Turner family and now serving as a stop along Vermont’s African American Heritage Trail.
