The Grafton Inn has cooked up a delicious day for the sixth annual Grafton Food & Spirits Festival in historic Grafton Village. The festival, scheduled for July 7, will feature tastings of local products, cooking demonstrations, and children’s activities, culminating with a special four-course dinner served in the Old Tavern Dining Room at 6:30 p.m. Tickets — $10 for adults — are available at the gate! Children 12 and under are free.

Meet Our 2018 Guest Chef: Michele Scicolone
Michele Scicolone is an award-winning food writer and the author of 20 cookbooks. Her latest, The Italian Vegetable Cookbook, was published in March 2014. Prior books include The Mediterranean Slow Cooker and The French Slow Cooker (HMH Publishing). Her previous book, The Italian Slow Cooker (HMH), was the #1 Bestselling Italian Cookbook on Amazon.com for 3 months. She is also the author of the #1 New York Times Bestseller The Sopranos Family Cookbook and Entertaining with the Sopranos. She has written about food, wine, and travel for many publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wine Spectator, Food & Wine, Gourmet, and Bon Appetit. Previous books include 1000 Italian Recipes, and Pizza–Anyway You Slice It!, co-authored with her husband Charles Scicolone, an Italian wine (and pizza) authority.
Michele’s television appearances include Sara’s Weeknight Meals, Emeril Live, The CBS Morning Show, Good Morning America, and Ciao Italia, as well as many local television and radio programs. Recently she appeared in a 7-lesson “Slow Cooker Cooking School” video series for Craftsy.com.
She has taught cooking classes at schools around the country including Lake Austin Spa, De Gustibus at Macy’s, Sur la Table, the Institute for Culinary Education, and Eataly. She appears regularly as a food and restaurant commentator on New York Public Television on i-ItalyTV. Michele has been a spokesperson for the Italian Trade Commission, Sur La Table, and Williams Sonoma, and a lecturer on Italian culture and cuisine at Hofstra and Henderson State Universities, and The Smithsonian Institute. Michele has also been a menu consultant for several restaurants and recipe developer for food companies.
Recently, Michele was awarded the prestigious Distinguished Service Award by the Italian Trade Commission.
Together with her husband, Michele has lectured on food and wine on cruises on the Crystal Serenity, Sea Cloud and Corinthian II and has hosted culinary tours to Sicily, Puglia and the Amalfi Coast.
